Lunch at Launceston Place

While Siv headed down to Old Leigh for a girlie lunch at No.1 Cockleshed, I went into town to meet Graebags and Johnnie Leaver for a quick drink at The Builders Arms in Kensington before Lunch at Launceston Place. The food was very good, if a bit 'unusual'. Heading back we stopped for a drink at The Greyhound and The Astronomer before heading home.

Walk to see the bluebells in Wanstead

We went for a walk in Chalet Wood in Wanstead to see the annual display of bluebells. As ever a lot of people had turned up to see them. We walked back after having a coffee and cake at the tea hut. A few photos are below, the rest are here:

Hornchurch v Cray Wanderers

A group of us went to watch Hornchurch v Cray Wanderers tonight, the crowd of 310 was a lot less than the 900+ from Saturday, but a good match that Hornchurch won comfortably 2-0.

 

Wildlife over Fairlop and in The Garden

We went for a walk up to Forest Farm Shop for a coffee and a sandwich, and walking past the long lake we saw a Terrapin sunning itself. When we got home we did some gardening and moving some things I uncovered this Common newt who was hibernating under the bonfire bin.

 

Hornchurch are Champions !

A large group of us met in the Upminster Taproom befrore heading off to watch Hornchurch v Chatham. The 2-1 win means Hornchurch are Champions and are promoted and will play in the National League South next season. A few photos from the day are below, the rest are here:

Easter weekend in Whitstable

We're just back from an Easter weekend in Whitstable with a large group for a weekend of walks and fun. We spent time doing a long walk to Herne Bay on the Saturday as well as a walk along the West Beach on the Sunday (where we ended up at an outdoor party in The Rose in Bloom hosted by TH3 Funkateers).
